Recycle your bicycle
Last Saturday, our Year 6 students and their parents joined forces in an inspiring “bike revival” initiative right here at School. Together, they collected more than 40 used bicycles and put their hands to work refurbishing them — giving each bike a second chance at life and endowing our students with real-world mechanical know-how.
Students rolled up their sleeves to learn valuable, practical skills—everything from changing wheels and fixing flat tires to aligning chains and tightening brakes. It wasn’t just about tools but teamwork, patience, and problem-solving.
After restoration, these bikes will journey to Centro La Esperanza, a vital educational and social services centre in Aeroparque within Canelones, operated by Fe y Alegría Uruguay.
This initiative was more than a School project—it was a conduit for compassion, community engagement and empowerment. Bravo to everyone who joined hands to make this happen!
