As part of our Unit of Inquiry, How the world works and taking into account the central idea of this Unit: Earth is part of a larger Universe, our Prep students visited the Planetarium on Thursday, 3rd of November.

The Form 6 “News report presentation” took place last week in their classrooms. It involved students writing and preparing a short report on an authentic global issue or topic and delivering it in the most engaging way possible. 

On October 27th, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Leticia Ponce from the prestigious IE University in Madrid to our School. Prof. Ponce is an experienced businesswoman who attended Kellogg School of Management and Stanford University. 

Last Wednesday saw the opening of the exhibition "A Message to Save the World", an interdisciplinary project between History and Art by Y1 students. Set inside a cave from the Palaeolithic Period, the students themselves guided visitors through their work.

On Saturday, 29th October the School opened its doors to one of the most important events of this gathering: the group competition of South American pipe bands, percussionists and dancers, related to Scottish culture. The different groups were judged by renowned international judges who came from Scotland, Canada and the United States.

The Form 2´s visited Reserva Pan de Azúcar on a lovely sunny day. Using their knowledge of animals and habitats they had learnt throughout the unit, they made observations about the different native animals they saw there.

The idea of having Playground Buddies came from a discussion between the Head of Junior, Mr Mallon and the Form 6 Prefects, with the idea being to implement it during playtimes.

Congratulations to Florencia Bentancor (F2), Sofía Bentancor (F3), Paulina Fernández (F3) and Catalina Kirkoff (F3) who took part in “Space Apps Challenge,” a worldwide competition organised by NASA.

As a closing event of the third Unit of Inquiry: “Who is hiding in my garden?” Kinder R students recorded a movie summarising the most important concepts they studied: minibeasts and their body parts, their habitats and jobs in nature and the environment.

Form 1 students presented their End of Year Celebration based on the Unif of Inquiry "How the World Works". The students, parents and families really enjoyed the show. 

On Thursday, 20th October, the Old Boys & Old Girls Club organised a training session of Mixed Ability rugby in the fields of The British Schools. Over 15 boys participated in the event, plus the organisers of the activity, M19 boys and Club coaches.

These are some of the questions Form 5 students ask themselves as they work in preparation for the PYP Exhibition.
